History

From shoe polish to high-tech products as manufactured today it has been an exciting and challenging journey.

This is how it developed...

 

1921

Emil Strub founded the company Strub + Co. AG. in Olten, Switzerland and began to produce shoe polish and floor polish.

1935

The product range was widened to include metal cleaning products and steel wool.

1956

The company’s headquarters moved from Olten to Reiden and the manufacture of metal working products started.

1958

Rudolf Strub, son of Emil Strub, took over the management of the business. New, environmentally friendly lubricating products began to be manufactured.

1962

Strub’s take over of the company Magnus enabled additional solid lubrication products to be added to the range.

1978

Take over of management by Marcel Strub, son of Rudolf Strub.

1980

For the first time bio-lubricants and bio-coolants were manufactured.

1986

Commissioning of an additional manufacturing facility and subsequent substantial increase in production.

1993

Foundation of subsidiary company Strub Lubricants South Africa.

1998

Certification to ISO 9001 (quality) and ISO 14001 (environment).

2003Enlargement of the fabrication capacity for greases, pastes, dispersions and suspensions, especially for the railway industry.
2006

Double of the warehouse capacity in Reiden.

2008

Acquisition of building land to double the production capacities.

2011

90 years Strub + CO. AG, Schmiertechnik.

2012

The 4th generation stepped into the Management Board of the company. Aline Strub, the daugther of Marcel Strub and her husband Dominik Strub-Tiedt.

2013

New branding with the name STRUB Swiss Tribology.

Start of the two year construction project to expand the production and storage tank capacities.

Foundation of subsidiary STRUB SPb LLC in St.Petersburg (Russia).

2014

Foundation of subsidiary STRUB India Pvt. Ltd. (Pune)

2016Restructering of business in Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and Belarus.
Nomination for Prodex Award
2017Dominik Strub-Tiedt takes over the CEO Position of Marcel Strub. Mr. Marcel Strub is President of the Board and his daughter Aline Strub acts as CFO and Vice President of the Board.
